What We Do and Want

At the Family Care Unit, family home secretaries, child secretaries, emergency home secretaries, and contact secretaries work together.

The Family Care is responsible for the recruitment and guidance of family homes, emergency homes, contact persons, and contact families for children and youth aged 0 – 20 years. We always strive to find the best match for each child who needs assistance through us and invest heavily in marketing, recruitment, and retaining our contractors. The family law department also works within the unit. Together, we are about twenty dedicated employees with varying ages and experiences. It is important that we enjoy and support each other in the workplace to achieve our set goals. The unit manager leads the unit together with two team leaders and wants our employees to feel that they have our support to stay motivated and feel secure.

The goal for the unit in 2025 is that children, parents, and other important adults around the child should know why they are in contact with social services and what the goal is, become involved in their own solutions, and grow up with secure adults around them.

About the Position

Tyresö Municipality is investing in family care and expanding with a new position. We are looking for someone who wants to join our team as a child secretary.

The position involves following up with children and youth on how their placement outside the home is functioning. The work is done in close collaboration with family home secretaries, and you will also have daily support from your team leader. You will be the one working to ensure that the child has a functioning school life and to assess if there is a need for other types of support in daily life. Collaboration with the child's relatives, care providers, and schools is an important part of the work, where you are responsible for the goals set by social services for the placement. In the municipality, we also focus on Signs of Safety, and together we practice the approach to find good cooperation with both biological parents, other networks, and the family home.

The position is permanent with immediate start or by agreement. Tyresö Municipality offers annual working hours, vacation exchange, and wellness benefits. We also have external supervision.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone who is an educated social worker and has experience in authority exercise, preferably from family home care. You might be thinking that you are eager for a change and want to apply to a pleasant workplace?

You are described as a colleague that others like to have in their work team, and you can share both successes and shortcomings. Since the work involves creating relationships, we want you to have a good ability to build trust and confidence and to communicate clearly and respectfully. You are flexible and have no problem helping colleagues where needed. Documentation is natural for you, and you have the ability to work both independently and with colleagues. Of course, you have a warm demeanor and prioritize the child's best interests.

Longer experience in family care is seen as a positive, but we place great importance on personal suitability.

A driver's license is necessary as the position involves travel.
